Now Accepting 2025 Conference Proposals

The Black Excellence Summit committee members are now accepting proposals for potential presenters to lead engaging conversations around innovative thoughts, conversations, research,  mentorship and best practices exploring the multifaceted dimensions of the Black experience.

This year we will be covering: ROOTS OF SUCCESS: GROUNDED IN COMMUNITY:

  • An exploration of community growth, development, and the empowering nature of collective community.

The overall pillars of the Black Excellence Summit

  • Being: Identity: (The Black experience and how you show up)
  • Empowering: (Finding the middle ground (A balance of Excellence and Notoriety)
  • Thriving: (Equipping Black students and faculty/staff with the tools to navigate experiences at UMBC and in the outside world)

Submission Deadlines

All proposals are due by Thursday, January 15, 2026.

Proposal Review Committee Timeline

Evaluations of all submissions January 16 – January 21, 2026.

Notification to presenters about selections on January 22, 2026.
